Ancient Greece

Each history workshop is designed to give children context and an overview of the topic covered. We begin every visit with an interactive timeline activity and a short introduction to the era.

We then split into smaller groups to experience a range of hands-on discovery activities, each lasting around 45 minutes to keep children engaged and learning.
Our exciting and innovative VR and AR (virtual and augmented reality) sessions are always very popular. Using the latest technology, children explore Ancient Greece. Working with a partner, children will complete a quest activity to find out some key facts about life as a Grecian all the while being deeply immersed in a virtual world.

Other activities can include:
  • Warring Sparta!
  • Ancient engineering: Large scale building, recreating The Temple of Zeus
  • Children will be able to wear authentic costumes while taking part in democratic decision-making of the day
  • What's a Grecian Urn? Greek symbolism and art
  • Greek alphabet coding
  • An archaeological dig, unearthing authentic artefacts as well as realistic replicas. Taking part in a paper based scientific enquiry, investigating the origins and uses of he artefacts
  • Getting to know the Greek Gods- an interesting family!
  • Greek geometry - including the Pythagorean Theorem
  • Greek inventions: make a water mill or How do you move water up a hill? Why, you simply build an Archimedes screw!

If there is something you would like us to specifically cover, just get in contact and we can prepare a special activity just for you!
